Full of it!

I'm full of thoughts today.

I was reading one of my favorite blogs to stalk (she's a writer with all sorts of interesting things to read about) and read this. It's blog gossip because I'm telling you something about what she said about something she read.

But I loved it!

Ernest Hemingway:
"Sometimes when I was starting a new story and could not get it going, I would sit in front of the fire and squeeze the peel of the little oranges into the edge of the flame and watch the sputter of blue that they made. I would stand and look out over the roofs of Paris and think, “Do not worry. You have always written before and you will write now. All you have to do is write one true sentence. Write the truest sentence that you know.”-Ernest Hemingway, A Moveable Feast

The truest sentence that I know:
Today my sky is blue.

What's yours?

I am a Mormon girl through and through

I'm sure you've all read or heard about HBO's show, "Big Love" and the controversial edition in which they claim they will have camera's taken into the temple.

I was reading the church's official statement that came out a few days ago. You can read it here: http://newsroom.lds.org/ldsnewsroom/eng/commentary/the-publicity-dilemma

I love this direction. When the attacks seem so personal toward something we hold so dear I think it's easy to fall into being offended but I love this statement: "As Elder M. Russell Ballard and Elder Robert D. Hales of the Council of the Twelve Apostles have both said recently, when expressing themselves in the public arena, Latter-day Saints should conduct themselves with dignity and thoughtfulness."

Nothing reveals true character more than through conflict resolution. The church's message is to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. So they may say awful things about us, they may unrightfully judge, mock and scorn. Living true to our testimonies our response must be made in peace, not in returning an eye for an eye but love. It's the hardest thing, isn't it? To be given such offenses and return love. That is the Lord's way. That is the right way.

This is why you're fat

I was blog stalking today and found this site. It's well worth a minute. Actually, I think Geoff would LOVE having some of these meals! http://www.thisiswhyyourefat.com/

This picture is just a teaser! (to visit the website-not to make your own oreo mountain)

And to think all this time I thought it was the girl scout cookies!

I've really got to lay off the pork brains in milk gravy!

Sewer fishing

Oh Caleb! He had our entire house wired with fishing line. Everywhere you went you got entangled in fishing line. Even in the middle of the night when I had to get up to go poddy I tripped all over the fishing line. It was making me crazy! My cupboards had fishing line hanging out, the pictures on my wall had fishing line tangled around them, the front door was wired with fishing line so that when you came through the front door a dining chair would fall over. It was even outside! Tied all through the trees from here to there---EVERYWHERE!
Fishing line everywhere. But this one took the cake.

I went in to use the downstairs bathroom and this is what I found. He had tied fishing line to the handle of the toilet. I looked down to wonder where the other end was. It was not in sight.

Did you know that if you tie one end of fishing line to the flushing handle then flush the line down the toilet you can let that end go as far as it can and then you can retrieve the line and pull up treasure?

It's called sewer fishing.....a new sport Caleb invented!

Girl Scout conspiracy

Watch out! The girls scouts are out to get anybody they can. That's right. You see them at the grocery store, at the school's health and wellness night, in front of the bank, in front of your favorite restaurant, on the side of the road and my favorite..... my front door!

I'm sending out a warning to all my friends. JUST SAY NO! If you don't you'll be like me.
One sleeve of cookies after the other, box after box after box. There's NO STOPPING!!! They've got me, guys. I can't stop! The bliss of package after package of thin mints is too much. I don't have the will power to stop and frankly don't want to. I buy a couple of boxes here and there thinking I've got it under control, eat them as fast as I get them and then I'm on the lookout for the girls in the green uniform for my next "fix".

The other day I had a whole box sitting on my desk. The next morning I came in to find it was completely empty! Oh boy did Caleb get in so much trouble. The words of an addict..."don't you even think about putting one finger on my cookies". Oh it's bad! The real trouble is that I realized how quickly I eat a box. One whole box to myself in about 15 minutes.
Surely Caleb ate that whole box......DIDN'T HE???? It couldn't have been me!

Beware friends! They'll get you too!
